Hey I'm Tenille, but most call me T. You wouldn't believe it now, but I used to have a South African accent and I can’t even imitate it anymore...I love helping families freeze time with a family film!

Finding The Mom-Entrepreneur-Me Balance

Here’s the thing: So often, we hear about someone’s journey to success after they’ve “made it.” Or we hear about their problems after they’ve figured out the solutions. And while there’s value in that, I think there’s more value in the play-by-play.

So, in honour of a new year, I’ve decided to share more of my play-by-play with you this year. Because both my son, Jax (12 months old), and Bebe Films (8 months old) have grown so much this year. And while I want to grow the mom and business owner in me, I want to find the balance between those parts of me and, well, myself. So, I’m doing the new year thing to do, and I’m choosing a word for each part of myself to be my guide this year.

I want to step into my self-employment status. I can work from anywhere, we’re the proud owners of a travel trailer, and my baby boy is officially not a blob / not a baby anymore. We’re finding our groove as parents, so it’s time to BRING ON exploring this beautiful island we call home.

I have been practicing time-blocking because my old pre-mom habits are NOT working for me or Jax. I’ve got to embrace the whole “work smarter, not harder” concept, so when I’m with Jax, I’m actually with him. Present. Not getting distracted by work and my to-do list because it’s already planned, and I’m working that plan.

Ah, growing slow. We’re conditioned to believe in overnight successes, but we all know that’s not how it actually works. I’m getting more comfortable with growing slow. With saying (and hearing) “no.” Withholding out for my dream clients. I finished 34 films in 8 months WTF?, which I’m so proud of. And I’m making room for more of it.

What are the parts of YOU you’re finding balance with?
