There’s nothing like a lumberjack with the longest lashes to make your heart swoon.
Laine’s mom and I connected the 21st-century way about six months ago—via Instagram. We started a conversation about our businesses (if you haven’t bought you and your little a Big Bunz yet, what are you waiting for?!). Mama was originally planning to film Laine’s birthday but ended up falling in love with my cake smash films—after all, they’re kind of the perfect combination of birthday festivities (hello, cake) and keepsake photos and film. She and Laine even drove all the way from Nanaimo to capture his cake smash film!
Of course, this little lumberjack was decked out in the quintessential garb: Plaid, overalls and boots. Against the white backdrop of my studio space, his outfit and personality popped! I snagged fresh greenery from our farm to set the scene, and we even let Laine get hands-on with my ukulele as a toddler-sized guitar (he loves playing guitar with his dad!)
Then the moment we were all waiting for: How would Lumberjack Laine react to his cake? Tentative at first—but as soon as he tried a bite, there was no stopping him (ahem, until he tried to taste the pinecones…)
